The most cardinal lesson was realising that I did not have to abandon my artistic talents, in the pursuit of creating a successful enterprise. I am the founder of Preferably Pearl (PTY) Ltd. I was raised in a family deeply entrenched in business. Yet, I sought to carve my own path as an artist, distancing myself from their legacy. My journey led me to pursue a BA (Hons) in Live Performance, graduating top of the discipline ​both in undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
However, my academic pursuits took an unexpected turn when I encountered a Music Business course during my music studies. To my surprise, I found myself drawn to it, realising that my aversion for business stemmed from a lack of interest in the medium it was taught. This revelation sparked the re-imagination of my future, prompting me to re-evaluate my educational and career choices.
